On 25 November 2019, the National History Museum Vienna will host an DiSSCo Information Day, presenting DiSSCo and the national consortium to all relevant stakeholders. This event will give a detailed insight into the ideas behind DiSSCo as a pan-European endeavor. It will also lay the foundation to exchange information between the Coordination of the RI and Austrian Stakeholders directly.
In the first slot, Dimitris Koureas and Ana Casino of the DiSSCo Coordination Team will outline the overall vision, emphasizing the richness of the consortium and contextualization within the landscape of European RIs. Next, the setup of the Project planning will be presented, starting with the project accompanying the Preparatory Phase. In the ESFRI process, this phase will then be followed by Implementation- and Operation-Phases.
During the The second slot Austrian stakeholders will present their thoughts and expectations to DiSSCo. This will include benefits from and obstacles to participation. An open discussion will elaborate specific ones in the light of national and regional natural history institutions as well as universities and currently existing infrastructures in Austria.
The third slot of the DiSSCo Information Day will then open the floor for a discussion among the present parties concerning the feasibility of a nationwide Austrian participation in this collaborative European effort.
